Mental health is very important in this part of our world where a lot of things are happening on a daily basis.A lot of people resort to committing suicide as a way of ending their problems. But then,is the problem really ended? or it’s just a way to avoid the problem.Well,we shall talk about suicide another time.

The term DEPRESSION(according to the dictionary) refers to a period of unhappiness or low morale which lasts longer than several weeks and may include ideation of self-inflicted injury or suicide.
While stress is the body’s way to keep you motivated and stimulated to respond to danger,it puts emotional pressure on the body.And then, too much of this stress can,in most cases cause depression in people.
A lot of things could cause stress in us it could range from the loss of a loved one,loss of a job,marital and relationship issues,trying to make ends meet and even down to meeting up to people’s expectations in life/at work.
In as much as we humans can’t limit the stress we face,we could actually reduce its effect on us, so that it doesn’t lead to depression.
As at January 2020,about 264 million people all over the world of all ages suffered from depression.
WHAT CAN WE DO TO AVOID DEPRESSION?
1) LEARN TO BE AROUND PEOPLE WHOM YOU LOVE AND WHO ALSO LOVES YOU.
This includes friends, family members, colleagues, neighbours (Of course,there is so much love to go around).The importance of this is that they keep you happy always,and this alone is very vital to your mental health.
Why this is important is because while exercising, the body releases endorphins that helps in reducing the stress levels, and in the long run improve your health in all aspects. To make this easier,have a coach or a partner,to always keep you motivated.
Whether it’s is in a form of relaxation like reading any book of your interest, seeing a movie,listening to music or sleeping. This helps relieve stress and keep you from being depressed. This is because depression could affect your behavior, thinking pattern,functioning and all other aspects in a negative way.You wouldn’t want that to happen to you,right?
